Is a program designed for participants
aged 50 years and above, or others who want a gentle
form of yoga which, though gentle, has all the benefits
of other more difficult forms of yoga; however it is
more appropriate to this age group. In this form of
yoga great attention is put on function rather than
form of exercise, the integration of breath and movement.
Controlled breathing techniques (pranayama) and Relaxation
techniques (Yoga nidra) are also taught in each class.
This technique is an adaptation of a gentle yoga taught
by Krishnamacharya, the father of modern Hatha Yoga
and his son T.K.V. Desikachar.
